About Altitude in School

“"The team at Altitude Foundation are amazing and truly believe in making a difference. It was their kindness and their forward planning that made motivated to become a partner school."” - Altitude School Partner

Altitude Foundation works with targeted schools and colleges across the North East, from Northumberland to Teesside. We believe in building strong, enduring partnerships with schools for mutual benefit, delivering impactful enrichment for pupils, aligned with schools' overarching missions. We offer different engagement options which the young people in schools can utilise to discover their passion for a career in STEM. Our priority is to ensure that our offer is as lightweight and integrated with existing school practice as possible, minimising the administrative overhead for busy staff!

Code Cooperatives

Code Cooperatives are sessions that we run inside of schools either at lunchtimes or afterschool. We usually aim for them to last an hour and will cover a range of different topics across computer science with the aim of developing core skills.

Careers Fairs

Altitude Foundation works closely with schools, often holding a stall during careers fairs to let students have a chance to talk to us and find out what we are about. This enables them to decide if joining the programme is something that they think would benefit them.

Taster Sessions and Assemblies

We hold taster sessions and assemblies as a chance to tell students about our extracurricular activities, and to let them experience what being a part of the programme might look like.

Work Experience

We offer work experience to students in years 10 and 11 to give them a chance to experience office life and get some practical experience with what a week of work could look like for them.
